How it started
Before there was a Master Auto Group, Nelson Nunez spent years in the car business, buying vehicles for dealerships that exported them.
In 2013 he opened his own lot in Raleigh. It started small: ten cars or fewer, mostly cash cars under $10,000. The business was built on finding the right cars, treating people fairly and earning their trust.
His son Kevin grew up in the business. He spent summers at the auctions with his father, helped around the dealership after school, and sold his first car at 17. He learned every side of the business on the way to becoming General Manager.
What it looks like now
The lot on Capital Blvd usually carries 45 or more vehicles: pickups, SUVs, performance cars, daily drivers and commercial vans. The family still runs it. Nelson focuses on finding and buying the cars, and Kevin runs the day-to-day.
Every car gets one straight price, with no inflated number to haggle back down. Financing goes through banks and credit unions, with ITIN and alternative-document programs when they're available, and the whole process can happen in English or Spanish.
The same approach carries past the sale through AutoLife by Master Auto Group, the family's service shop.
